Jöro opened in December 2016 and co-owners Luke French and Stacey Sherwood have spent the last year firmly establishing themselves on the culinary map. Theirs is an exciting, concept driven restaurant serving up delicious dishes created with distinct vision and exceptional skill.
Head Chef Luke has drawn on Scandinavian and Japanese influences to offer diners ‘a meal built of many small plates’. The menu is created according to the seasonal availability of native ingredients. Care is taken to develop relationships with suppliers meaning that the kitchen has access to the best each season has to offer. Luke and the team enjoy the freedom to be creative with the dishes meaning that the menu changes and evolves, even reflecting small changes in the weather.
It is little surprise then that in the last year Jöro has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, 2 AA Rosettes and a score of 4 in The Good Food Guide. Not to mention glowing reviews wherever you look, most recently from the Guardian.
The experience of dining at Jöro will be made doubly unforgettable if you have the privilege of sitting close by the open kitchen. If you look closely you will notice the ProWare stainless steel tri-ply pans being used on the specially commissioned induction hob. Induction hobs are gaining popularity and market share not least because they sit easily in smart, modern kitchens but also because they are energy efficient and easy to keep clean. Additionally important for Luke and the team is the fact that they produce less smoke than gas hobs and they don’t generate carbon build-up on the pans.
